Branch Leader Featured at Parade
Branch 258 was proud to be represented once again by former President George Cook, who served as the grand marshal for the Labor Day parade held on September 2. As many of you know, George served as our branch president from from 1998 to 2012, as well as serving in myriad capacities for our union and for letter carriers. George was instrumental in helping to make our branch a source of pride and respect among our brethren in the NALC, and we congratulate him as the United Labor Council recognizes him with this honor.
Branch 258 Represented at Labor Day Parade
Reading NALC Branch 258 was well represented at the 26th annual United Labor Council of Reading and Berks County Labor Day parade. Approximately 40 letter carriers, friends and families turned out to make the walk from Penn Street to 5th to Centre Ave to First Energy Stadium, while throwing treats to the children and enjoying the festivities. Participants also enjoyed a buffet lunch at the stadium afterwards to cap the day. Pics are provided below...
